Dacoits have killed a woman and looted cash and valuables worth Rs.50,000 from a house here, police said Monday.
Four people were also injured in the heist that took place in the city's Nistauli area Sunday night.
Police said five to six dacoits barged into the house of 48-year-old Muninder, a widow, and started hitting all other members of the family by iron rods.
Muninder's eldest daughter Anjali, 23, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital.
Muninder, her younger daughter Preetie, her son Shekhar and Anjali's son Ansh also sustain injuries. Medical condition of Muninder and Shekhar is stated to be critical.
Police said they have registered a case.
