The owner of the house in Chandni Chowk here whose address was used by Pakistan mission staffer Mehmood Akhtar in a forged Aadhaar card said he has never heard of the person and that his address was used illegally.

Mohammad Asif, 48, the real owner of the over 50-year-old 300 sq metre house in Rodgran Mohalla in Chandini Chowk, told IANS he does not have any link with Pakistani national Mehmood Akhtar, alias Mahboob Rajput, who was earlier detained for spying.

Asif, a local businessman, runs a shop for sale and repair of electric water pumping motors.

"I never heard about this person (Mehmood Akhtar), and nor have I seen this man whose photo is stuck on a forged Aadhaar card with my house address on it," Asif told IANS.

"We have a more than 50-year-old ancestral house, where 13 members, including cousins, reside," Asif said.

"It is a matter of serious concern how the card was made illegally. I have also made all my documents, including passport and Aadhaar card, but it was made only after close verification by local police of my address," he said.

The Indian government on Thursday asked the Pakistan High Commission diplomat to leave the country immediately for allegedly running a major espionage ring.
