The Lok Sabha panel constituted by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to probe AAP lawmaker Bhagwant Mann's alleged breach of security, feels that the incident has exposed the security system of Parliament, sources said here on Tuesday.
The nine member panel, headed by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, held its second meeting which was attended by Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Verma and Joint Secretary, Parliament Security, Yogesh Deshmukh.
In the meeting, Verma put the blame on Parliament security staff for the lapse, sources said.
According to sources, members of the panel expressed displeasure over the conduct of Delhi Police in the entire matter from recording to uploading the video on social media.
The panel is likely to hold another meeting on Wednesday with Parliament staff members, who were on duty at that time of incident.
Mann has sought three days' time to appear before the panel.
The panel, which has been asked to give its report by August 3, is expected to submit it to the Speaker by the stipulated time.
The Speaker, who Monday set up the panel, "advised" Mann not to attend the house till the issue is resolved, saying his act had put "security of the parliament in peril".
Mann is an Aam Aadmi Party MP from Punjab.
The inquiry committee will inquire into the security implications and related aspects arising out of Mann making the audio-visual recording of his entry into Parliament House.
