The former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam-led AIADMK faction on Thursday got a booster with Tamil Maanila Congress leader G.K. Vasan extending his support to the former.
Former Union Shipping Minister Vasan announced that his party would support AIADMK-Puratchi Thalaivi Amma in the April 12 by-election for the Radhakrishnan Nagar assembly constituency after Panneerselvam called on him to seek his support.
Vasan said he would jointly campaign with Panneerselvam seeking votes for AIADMK-Puratchi Thalaivi Amma candidate E. Madhusudanan, adding Panneerselvam had earned the full trust of late Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary J. Jayalalithaa.
In the by-election to the seat held by Jayalalithaa, Madhusudanan faces the V.K. Sasikala-led AIADMK Amma faction's (T.T.V.Dhinakaran, DMK's Marudhu Ganesh and Bharatiya Janata Party's Gangai Amaran.
