Parents of a one-and-half-year-old child, who is suffering from a rare liver disorder, are seeking to raise Rs 25 lakh through a crowd funding platform, for transplant.
The parents of Shrijay have so far raised Rs 11.8 lakh through Impact Guru in nearly a month and have appealed to people donate generously to save his life.
This infant is suffering from Glycogen Storage disease, which is preventing his growth.
Shirjay, aged one year, seven months, was repeatedly admitted to hospital over last 13 months. Currently, he is in a critical condition and is in ICU due to acute metabolic acidosis and the connected ailments, the parents said on the crowd funding platform
A panel of expert doctors at a private hospital here concluded that liver transplantation is the last resort to save Shrijay's life and this cannot be delayed due to his condition.
"Tests before surgery and the cost of transplantation and medicines after surgery are estimated to cost over Rs 25 lakh. Even after that child has to be on immunosuppressants lifelong which are again costly," said Shirjay's father B. Jagan Mohan Rao.
