On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parriiar on Saturday urged Goans to avoid using plastic bags.
"Let us celebrate the victory of good over evil by taking a small step towards a clean Goa, carry your own shopping bag and avoid using plastic," Parrikar tweeted.
Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami, marks the culmination of the 10-day long Navratri festival, in which Goddess Durga is worshipped.
It is also believed to be the day when Lord Ram defeated Ravana, and is celebrated as a festival of victory of good on evil.
