After a run of over four years on the small screen, "Pavitra Rishta", which is dragging now, is likely to go off the air soon.

Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms produced the show and it will be replaced by another show by the same banner, said a source.

"Nothing has been decided yet but the show ('Pavitra Rishta') might go off air soon. Though nothing is fixed yet it might be replaced by another show by Ekta Kapoor," the source told IANS.

"Pavitra Rishta" went on air in 2009 with Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput as the lead pair and it was well received by the viewers thanks to the content.

But since Sushant's exit from the show in 2011 to fulfill his big screen dreams, the viewership has plummeted. Even getting popular actor Hiten Tejwani on board did not help it much.

The show took many leaps but instead of creating curiosity it disappointed the audience and the viewership dipped.
