FC Barcelona centre back Gerard Pique said he likes to stir up the rivalry between his team and arch-rivals Real Madrid.
He admitted that he likes to fire up the fans of both teams, and that he has done so for years, particularly since the Catalan club began to win titles.
In an interview with GQ magazine, Pique, who has been criticised by the Real Madrid fans, noted that he is aware of his manner and behaves according to his character.
"The Barca-Madrid rivalry is what has always made us among the greatest," he said.
"So, from time to time I like to stir up the rivalry," Pique explained.
As for the matches of the Spanish national team, when he was subjected to catcalls, Pique noted that the team of coach Vicente del Bosque is "a family" for him.
