Production banner Waypoint Entertainment has acquired the movie rights to the popular coming-of-age comic series "Plutona", written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Emi Lenox.
"Plutona" is about a group of children who find the body of a famous dead superhero in the woods, reports variety.com.
Waypoint Entertainment's Ken Kao will produce the project with partner Dan Kao and Addictive Pictures' Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder.
"'Plutona' has been a labour of love for us and we were very careful about finding a home for it, and we are thrilled that the team at Addictive and Waypoint share our passion for the story and for its potential as a film," Lemire said.
"Plutona" -- a five-issue limited series was released in September last year.
