Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of BJD MP Hemendra Singh Chandra who died early Friday in Bhubhaneshwar.
"PM expressed sadness over the passing away of Lok Sabha MP Hemendra Chandra Singh and extends condolences to the family of the deceased," said a tweet from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
Singh, a first time MP of Odisha's ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), died of sepsis and multiple organ failure at a private hospital here early Friday, family sources said. He was 47.
A scion of the Nayagarh royal family, Singh represented the Kandhamal constituency in the Lok Sabha. He is survived by his wife, one son and one daughter.
