PM remembers Maharshi Valmiki on birth anniversary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered the ideals and thoughts of Maharshi Valmiki on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti.
"Remembering the noble ideals and pure thoughts of Maharshi Valmiki on Valmiki Jayanti. His impact on our society is phenomenal," Modi said in a tweet.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also greeted people on the occasion.
Maharshi Valmiki, author of the ancient epic Ramayana, is considered as the first poet in Sanskrit literature.
