A Delhi Police sub-inspector was arrested while taking a Rs.50,000 bribe from a person for not implicating him in a case, a CBI official said.
Daya Ram, posted at Chanakyapuri police station, had demanded a bribe of Rs.4 lakh from the complainant for not implicating him in the case being investigated by him, said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official.
The CBI laid a trap and the official was Thursday caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 in south Delhi's Moti Bagh area.
Searches were conducted at Daya Ram's residence, official said.
