Poll official in Uttarakhand dies of cardiac arrest

A polling official in Uttarakhand died of heart attack on Wednesday, an official said.

The deceased, identified as Karan Singh, was serving as superintendent engineer with the state irrigation department.

He had been deployed at a zonal magistrate in the Gangohkhaal seat in Pithoragarh assembly constituency.

"He suffered a cardiac stroke and was rushed to a nearby community health centre where he was pronounced dead on arrival," an official said.
