Pranab congratulates Micronesia president

President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday congratulated Peter M. Christian on becoming the eighth president of the Federated States of Micronesia.

"Our two countries share a traditionally close and friendly relationship. I am confident that our deepening partnership will strengthen and diversify in the years to come," Mukherjee said in a statement.

"Together, we can address the common challenges that we face and take advantage of the opportunities in this era of global transformations," he said. Micronesia is located in the western Pacific Ocean.
