President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday greeted the people of Algeria on the eve of their Independence Day on November 1, and wished for their progress and prosperity.
"On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to extend to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Algeria warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day," Mukherjee said in a message to his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
"I note with satisfaction the successful visit of Vice President of India to Algiers from 17 to 19 October, 2016. The visit has enabled both countries to renew high level contacts and identify new areas for bilateral cooperation," he added.
