Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about a 'Make in India' campaign while he wears a suit made in Britain, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi mocked Wednesday.
"Crores of rupees were invested in marketing for Make in India, but was anything made in India? He (Modi) wears suit worth Rs.10 lakh, but even that is not made in India, its made in UK," Rahul Gandhi said while launching a sharp attack against the prime minister at a campaign rally here.
During US President Barack Obama's visit, Modi wore a pinstriped suit that had his full name - Narendra Damodardas Modi- monogrammed in the fabric.
Rahul Gandhi, who was speaking at Azadpur in north Delhi where he was campaigning for the Delhi assembly election also accused the prime minister of working for a few industrialists.
"The prices of petrol and diesel have gone down, but the inflation is not coming down. If the benefit of fall in oil prices in international market is not going into your pocket, then where is it going," he asked.
"Modi has four to five businessmen friends... the loss you face when you buy vegetables is their profit," he said.
