Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday said he would attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Congress and JD-S coalition government in Karnataka on Wednesday.
"I had a warm and cordial meeting this evening, in Delhi, with H.D.Kumaraswamy. We discussed the political situation in Karnataka and other matters of mutual interest. I will be attending his swearing in as Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday in Bengaluru," Gandhi tweeted.
The Congress and the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) formed a post-poll alliance after the May 12 elections in Karnataka threw a Hung assembly with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as the single largest party but short of majority to form government on its own. The Congress bagged 78 and the JD-S 37 seats.
