Rain and duststorm on Saturday brought relief to the people of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) who were reeling under intense heatwave conditions for the past few days.
The day began on a partly cloudy note, with the minimum temperature in the capital recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, only to give way to a sunny sky.
The duststorm and rain hit the region around 2.30 p.m.
Though the Met Office had forecast Saturday's maximum temperature to hover around 41 degrees Celsius, the mercury might drop lower due to the rain.
The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 53 percent.
Friday's maximum temperature was 41.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, while the minimum temperature was 29 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
