Delhi and its adjoining areas were lashed by short spells of heavy rain Sunday, which lowered the maximum temperature to 32.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average. The Met office has forecast more rain Monday.
"The skies will be generally cloudy with rain and thundershower," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
The city Sunday recorded 76.5 mm of rainfall.
With heavy rain, the north and south municipal corporations received several complaints of waterlogging from areas such as Civil Lines and GTB Nagar in north Delhi besides Lajpat Nagar, Defence Colony, Jangpura, Mathura Road and Jamia Nagar in south Delhi.
The minimum temperature in the morning was 27.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average. The humidity wavered between a high and low of 90 and 72 percent, respectively.
Monday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 33 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Saturday's maximum temperature was 35.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, while the minimum was 27.6 degrees Celsius, a degree above the season's average.
