The city of Chandigarh and most parts of Punjab and Haryana witnessed a pleasant morning on Tuesday with some areas experiencing showers, weather department officials said.
The region remained cloudy on Tuesday.
On Monday, most areas received relief from the scorching 40-plus temperatures and in most places, the maximum temperature ranged from 36 to 39 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 38.2 degrees Celsius on Monday while Bhiwani in Haryana had a high of 36.4 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 39 degrees Celsius while in Ludhiana, the mercury stood at 38.5 degrees.
The Met officials said that the cloudy conditions, with possibility of rain in some places, will continue for another two days.
