Home Minister Rajnath Singh Monday reviewed the situation along the border with Pakistan following the latter's ceasefire violations across the international border and Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Informed sources said the minister took stock of deployment of the Border Security Force and asked it to take all steps to ensure security of civilians in the areas subjected to shelling. BSF officials said that its personnel were giving a befitting reply to shelling.
Firing from across the border has led to casualties to civilians in Jammu region.
AThree people, including a minor, were injured in Ramgargh sector of Samba district in the state after the Pakistan Rangers used mortars and other long-range weapons to target Indian positions on the international border Sunday night. The firing has also triggered migration of residents from several villages.
