New Delhi, April 18 (IANS) Actor Ranveer Singh, who is just two films old, recently left the crew of his upcoming film "Lootera" in shock.
"In one of the sequences of 'Lootera', the actor was supposed to be in pain. He asked for a safety pin and repeatedly pierced himself while giving this particular shot," said a source.
"The director and the unit members were dead against it, but Ranveer's argument was that it is a really poignant scene and every stab of pain was enhancing his performance.
"When the team saw the performance on the edit table, they were sure it would touch the hearts of the audiences," the source added.
The period romance drama, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, pairs Ranveer with actress Sonakshi Sinha.
The 27-year-old made his Bollywood debut in Yash Raj Films (YRF) 2010 venture "Band Baaja Baaraat" and later played a con artist in "Ladies vs Ricky Bahl" in 2011.
Besides "Lootera", Ranveer will also be seen in "Ram Leela" and "Gunday" this year.
