Senior hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani on Friday said the only relation between India and the people of Kashmir is that of an occupier and the occupied people.

After his scheduled press conference was foiled by the authorities in Srinagar earlier in the day, Geelani issued a statement asking people to continue the ongoing protest shutdown.

Geelani alleged that the government had drawn up a "kill list of pro-freedom leaders, activists and those civil society members, business leaders, government employees and journalists who have not succumbed to their machinations".

"This is a very serious issue and we warn the occupier and their stooges that any such misadventure will have serious repercussions...."

Geelani claimed: "This was a sign of frustration of the enemy as the goal of our freedom is in sight now."

"The defeat of our enemy and the fact of our imminent victory are very much evident in the frustrated talk in their Parliament, institutions of power and in the news studios of their fascist media," he said.

The octogenarian separatist leader said: "During this uprising, Pakistan has once again proved that they are our friends and well-wishers."
