Singer Rihanna has been cast as Marion Crane -- the role made famous by actress Janet Leigh -- in the fifth and final season of TV series "Bates Motel".
Rihanna announced she will play Marion Crane in the "Bates Motel" final season on Friday at San Diego Comic Con via a video, reports dailymail.co.uk.
The 28-year-old singer was giddy while sending a video to fans that she is taking on Leigh's iconic role on the "Psycho" prequel's fifth season.
She said: "Hello Comic-Con, it's your girl Riri and let me tell you what a bad b***h is about to do. I am about to check into the Bates Motel very soon... guess what else? Guess who's playing Marion?"
The "Diamonds" hitmaker was dressed in a fluorescent yellow floral blouse with high-collar and ruffles throughout.
Rihanna paused for several seconds and placed her hands beneath her chin while vying for attention from her fans.
"Yes! So all you Comic-Con fans, all you Bates Motel fans, stay tuned!"
During the A&E show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con, executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin confirmed the news.
"We wanted to thrust the iconic role into a contemporary spotlight and redefine it in a meaningful and exciting new way," they said.
The producers added: "We also heard Rihanna was a fan of the show, and we were huge fans of hers, so it was the perfect collision of creativity and fate."
The hit television series reboot is a prequel to the original 1960 film which centers around the teenage years of Norman Bates - who is played by Freddie Highmore.
