Former Brazil star Ronaldinho has left Fluminense after spending just over two months and playing only nine games for the city-based football club.
Fluminense said they and Ronaldinho agreed to part company in an "amicable manner and by mutual agreement".
"From the initial contact with the directors, the player and his representative treated the club with professionalism and respect," added Fluminense in a statement on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old failed to score a goal during his short stint.
"Dear Mr. President, directors and the whole Fluminense nation! Very proud to have worn this shirt. Today we are announcing the end of the employment but not the end of an important relationship which was sealed with truth, respect and honesty," Ronaldinho said in his statement on Tuesday.
