An RTI activist, Mukesh Dubey, was found beaten to death on Tuesday morning in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh, police said.
Police said a body with injury marks was found in Matkaura village in Sumawali police station area. The deceased was identified as Mukesh Dubey of Morena from an identify card found on him.
Bamore Sub-Divisional Police Officer Atmaram Sharma said several cases were registered against Mukesh, adding that police was investigating.
Right to Information activist Ajay Dubey wrote to the state Chief Information Commissioner to demand a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the murder.
RTI activist Aishwarya Pandey said Mukesh was done to death for his attempts to expose corruption in rural local bodies.
