A 54-year-old Russian national died in Goa of an "unknown disease", prompting the police to book a case of unnatural death.
The deceased has been identified as Gulaev Ivon.
A police officer in the south Goan beach village of Colva said Ivon was vomiting in his hotel and following which he fell and died on the spot.
"We have not been able to ascertain prima facie reason, but appears that the death was due to an unknown disease he was suffering from," the officer said.
Police said the post mortem was being conducted and the Russian consular authorities had been alerted about the death.
