The fourth seeded Indo-Zimbabwean pair went down 3-6, 3-6 Thursday in this hard court tournament, which is a warm-up event for the US Open.
Sania and Cara had got a bye in the first round.
With Sania's exit, Indian campaign here ended.
Fifth seeds Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek, who got a bye in the first round, were also knocked out from the second round of men's double by Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock.
Pospisil and Sock had also defeated the Indo-Pakistan Express of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in the first round.
