West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, who is currently in custody in the Saradha scam, was Wednesday denied bail by a court here.

Mitra had moved the court of South 24 Parganas district and sessions judge Samaresh Prasad Chowdhury seeking bail, contending that the Central Bureau of Investigation has no direct evidence to prove his complicity in the scam.

The court, however, refused to grant him bail.
