A 35-year-old teacher of a prominent school in the national capital has been arrested for molesting minor female students inside the school premises, police said Wednesday.
Nirmal Tamang was arrested Tuesday after the principal of a school in south Delhi lodged a complaint with the police.
Police said Tamang, during interrogation, accepted that he had been molesting several girls inside the classrooms. On Wednesday, he was sent to 14 days' judicial custody.
The incident came to light Monday evening when a fifth class student, after returning home, told her parents that she was molested by Tamang inside the classroom.
Police said Tamang, who has been teaching in the school for the past eight years, has molested at least three other girls.
