Searing heat continues in Delhi, no respite Saturday

It was another day Friday when the capital reeled under the scorching temperature, which shot up to five notches above average at 45 degrees Celsius. There will be no let up in the heat Saturday.

The heat wave added to the discomfort of people who have experienced searing heat for the past few days.

While the minimum temperature settled three notches above average at 25.5 degrees Celsius, the humidity wavered between a high and low of 45 and 22 percent.

The Met department has forecast that the heat wave would continue in the capital.

Saturday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 45 and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Thursday was the hottest day in the past 10 years with the maximum temperature being recorded at 45.7 degrees Celsius, six notches above average.
