India's trap shooter Seema Tomar won the gold medal in the Women's Trap event at the fourth Asian Shotgun Championship here Monday.
Seema, who hails from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, shot a credible 97 (72+12+13) in the final to beat Mariya Dmitriyenko of Kazakhstan to second place.
This is Seema's career best result in international events with her previous best being a silver four years back at the World Cup in Dorset, Britain.
Seema's effort also helped the Indian women's team to bag the team gold in Trap as she combined with Shagun Chaudhary and Shreyasi Singh to shoot a total of 207, edging out Japan (203), who won silver, and South Korea (199), who took bronze. Individually, Shreyasi shot 68 while Shagun ended with 67.
