The 30-sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) broke the 25,000-points mark Friday, had an erratic movement, rallying more than 1,000 points and ending just above 200 points on the counting day for the 16th Lok Sabha election results.
The Sensex gained a whopping 986.11 points, or 4.13 percent in the early period of trade around 9.30 a.m. after opening at 24,271.54 points from its previous day's close of 23,905.60 points.
The Sensex then continued its upward mobility as counting trends showed the Bharatiya Janata Party taking a big lead in the poll results.
