Sensex provisionally closes 115 points up

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Thursday provisionally closed trading 115.11 points, or 0.48 percent, up.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed 42.20 points, or 0.57 percent, up at 7,404 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 24,386.45 points, closed the day's trade at 24,338.43 points (at 03.30 p.m.) -- up 115.11 points or 0.48 percent from the previous day's close at 24,223.32 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 24,514.01 points and a low of 24,224.74 points in the intra-day trade.
