United States tennis icon Serena Williams here on Tuesday reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the tenth time in her career.
Serena, 34, advanced to the penultimate round after beating Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4, 6-4, reports Efe.
The world No.1 and defending champion will play the semi-finals against Russian Elena Vesnina, who defeated Slovakia's Dominika Cibulkova 6-2, 6-2.
German fourth seed Angelique Kerber also advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Romanian Simona Halep 7-5, 7-6 (2) in 91 minutes.
In the semi-finals, Kerber will face Venus Williams, who defeated Kazakh Yaroslava Shedova 7-6 (5), 6-2 in one hour and 43 minutes on Tuesday.
"I am playing my best tennis right now," Kerber, who is yet to drop a set in the championship, told Wimbledon website.
Venus, 36, has reached the last four round at Wimbledon for the first time in seven years.
