Sevilla wraps up preparations for Europa League clash with Standard Liege

Sevilla held a final training session on Wednesday on the eve of their UEFA Europa League group stage home opener against Belgian club Standard Liege.

Three players were absent from the practice: midfielder Maxime Gonalons and defenders Gabriel Mercado and Sergio Escudero, as they are respectively suffering from injuries to the right fibula, right ulnar and left elbow, reports Efe.

Coach Pablo Machin had given Los Hispalenses a break from training on Tuesday, two days after their 2-0 La Liga loss to Getafe.

Standard Liege coach Michel Preud'homme also held a training session on Wednesday before giving a press conference at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium in Seville, which will host Thursday's match.
