Filmmaker Hansal Mehta's "Shahid", which has got a thumbs up from the critics and has been appreciated at film festivals, will now be converted into a novel.
"Shahid", starring Rajkumar Yadav in the lead role, is coming out Oct 18. It tells the story of lawyer and activist Shahid Azmi who was shot dead here.
"The trailer of 'Shahid' has been a roaring hit and those who have seen the film have been showering praises on it," said a source.
"It's a hard-hitting, bold film and people want to know more about Shahid Azmi's life and work. Plans are on to make the script of the film into a paperback novel. This will happen post the release of the film," added the source.
If things go according to plan, the novel will be launched soon after the film's release.
