Shock wins for Abhay, Samita in junior squash meet

Two Tamil Nadu players Abhay Singh in the boys Under-17 and Samita Sivakumar (girls U-15), came up with outstanding wins to reach their respective title rounds in the ISA Open junior squash tournament here on Wednesday.

Abhay wore down second seed Robin Singh Mann from Delhi 11-6, 6-11, 11-9, 11-8, for his first win in their eight meetings.

Equally impressive was Samita's effort as she beat second seeded Navmi Sharma of Maharashtra 11-2, 11-4, 3-11, 11-13, 11-8.
