Shuttlers Ashwini-Ivanov enter French Open main draw

Indo-Russian badminton pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Vladimir Ivanov qualified for the main draw of the $275,000 French Open Super Series here Tuesday.

Ashwini and Ivanov first overcame local mixed doubles pair of Vincent Espen and Manon Krieger 21-9, 21-7 in 20 minutes before getting a walkover from Dutch combine Robin Tabeling and Iris Tabeling at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin.

They will play their first round match against another qualifying pair Wednesday.
