Six persons, including a B.Tech graduate, were arrested on charge of betting Rs 1 crore online for an IPL cricket match, police said on Thursday.
Mukesh Kumar, 56, Manmohan Krishan, 38, Vinod Kumar, 32, Manish Kumar, 28, Naveen Kumar, 28, and Keshav, 28, were arrested on late Tuesday night from a flat in Vishwas Nagar in east Delhi following a tip-off.
They have been booked under the Public Gambling Act, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nupur Prasad said.
"During questioning, it was found that flat owner Manmohan was into online betting while Naveen and Manish helped him. The three had come there to place bets on an Indian Premier League match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab," Prasad said.
