Half a dozen Sikh devotees were injured Tuesday in a clash between two groups at the famous Patna Sahib Gurdwara in the Bihar capital, police said.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said that two groups of Sikh devotees clashed following a dispute over appointment in the gurudwara management committee.
"Two groups armed with swords attacked each other," he said, adding that half-a-dozen people were injured and had been admitted to a hospital.
Manu Maharaj said that situation was now under control and security forces have been deployed.
The clash took place when hundreds of of Sikhs from across the country and abroad had gathered at the gurudawara to attend the 'Prakash Utsav' to mark the 347th birth anniversary of the 10th Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh on Tuesday.
