Software testers at a two-day conference here have called for a change in testing techniques in view of rapid advances in digitisation.
Participants at the Pune Software Testing Conference (PSTC), that concluded on Thursday, stressed the need for a transformation in testing techniques with digitisation taking over business.
Software testing typically -- but not exclusively -- attempts to execute a programme or application with the intent of finding software bugs, errors or other defects. The job of testing is an iteractive process as when one bug is fixed, it can illuminate other, deeper bugs, or can even create new ones.
The conference was organised into four thematic sessions -- Models and Methods; Business Change and Digital; Tools and Technology; and People and Skills.
Among the international speakers sharing their views and directions were Wolfgang Platz, founder & CPO of Tricentis; Rakesh Samal, Vrushali S. and Chiranjib B. from Tata Consultancy Services; and Kavita Kulkarni from Infosys.
The conference was preceded by TestAutothon, first of its kind, which was followed by two days of inspiring sessions.
The event that drew a cross-section of the testing community was the brain child of SteP-IN, a community that claims to be among the biggest in Asia.
