Congress chief Sonia Gandhi Monday flew to the US for a medical check-up, party sources said.
Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Vadra is accompanying her, said sources.
The visit is part of a scheduled annual check-up.
In 2011, Gandhi underwent a surgery for an undisclosed ailment in a US hospital and went there again last year for a check-up.
On Aug 26, when the Lok Sabha was debating the Food Security Bill, Sonia Gandhi, 66, was taken ill and was admitted to the All India Institute of Me4dical Sciences (AIIMS) but was discharged the same night.
