Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday reviewed the law and order situation in the state after the terror attack on a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday.
Sonowal also extended his condolences to the family members of martyred trooper Maneswar Basumatary, who hailed from the state, and said that his sacrifice in the line of duty would be remembered by the whole nation.
"His martyrdom would keep inspiring all those engaged in protecting the country besides making the fight against terrorism more intensified," Sonowal said.
The Chief Minister directed Assam Director General of Police Kuladhar Saikia to take all necessary steps to ensure that the law and order situation in the state is not disturbed and forces inimical to the state's interests are not allowed to raise their heads.
