The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday said the Samajwadi Party walked out of the anti-BJP coalition in Bihar not due to disappointment over seat sharing among the Janata Parivar but also knowing that it's a losing alliance.
"Today the SP parted ways with Janata Parivar. It was not merely due to five seats being given to them... the real cause was because it realised that this is a losing alliance and a losing battle in Bihar," BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy said at a press conference here.
Uttar Pradesh's ruling Samajwadi Party on Thursday walked out of the anti-BJP coalition in Bihar saying it will contest the state assembly elections on its own.
Samajwadi Party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav told reporters earlier in the day that the "grand coalition" had humiliated his party by giving it just five of the 243 seats.
