The Kapoor and the Bachchan family are currently dividing their time between Mumbai and New York. Keeping in mind their schedule, Nikhil Advani arranged a screening of his directorial venture "D-Day" in New York for the members of both the families.

Rishi Kapoor's sister Ritu Nanda, who also happens to be Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan's daughter Shweta's mother-in-law, is being treated for an illness in New York.

Attending to the ailing Kapoor matriarch in New York are Jaya, her son Abhishek and Neetu Singh.

Rishi Kapoor, who is playing a gangster in "D Day", said: "It was very nice of Nikhil. He feels I've excelled in his film. My wife Neetu is currently in New York. Nikhil feels there is no way she should miss the film. So he very sweetly offered to hold a private screening for Neetu, Jaya and Abhishek, who are all in New York."

"It isn't a joke to hold a screening in Manhattan. It requires a lot of money and effort. I am touched that Nikhil took all this trouble. I am glad Neetu is watching the film. She is my most honest critic."

Rishi doesn't watch any of his own films.

"I'm superstitious about it. I did watch 'Aurangzeb' and look what happened to it," he chuckled.

Also starring Irrfan, Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi and Shruti Haasan, "D Day" released Friday.

Said Advani: "When I realised Neetu m'aam won't be in India, I had to do something. She can't miss this performance of Rishiji. She doesn't miss any of his films."
