Espanyol striker Felipe Caicedo has passed his medical tests to join Lazio, the Italian club announced on Saturday.
The 28-year-old Ecuadorian player travelled to Rome on Friday, accompanied by his agent, with permission from the Spanish club, reports Efe.
The future of Caicedo at La Liga side has been subject to much media speculation since the January transfer window after he was barely included in the plans of Espanyol Spanish coach Quique Sanchez Flores. It seems that the situation will remain unchanged in the 2017/2018 season.
Espanyol aims to allow Caicedo to leave to reduce the highest salaries of the Catalan team and sign new defenders to strengthen its back line.
