Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai took part in the Versova beach cleaning drive on Monday.
The drive, which was attended by over 200 residents of Versova, was conducted with the aim to clean the stock of garbage formed at the beach.
Ghai, also the owner of Whistling Woods International, took keen interest in the drive and also urged his students from the institute to make the environment better.
Ghai said in a statement: "It was a wonderful feeling today to be part of this amazing clean-up drive at Versova beach. My friend Afroz Shah had invited me to join the drive along with the residents.
"We received great support from the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) too. It was a real scene of Swachh Bharat inspired drive. We are soon going to re-initiate it and would urge all my students of Whistling Woods International and all the citizens to join me in it," he added.
