Sunny morning in Delhi, showers expected

It was a sunny, warm morning in the national capital Sunday as the minimum temperature settled a notch above average at 27.5 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast light rain towards the evening.

"The skies will be partly cloudy and light rains may occur in some parts of the city," said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius.

Saturday saw sultry and sunny weather in most parts of the city, though light rain occurred in some areas.

Saturday's maximum temperature settled three notches above average at 36.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum was a notch above average at 27.4 degrees Celsius.

Since the onset of the monsoon in June, the city has recorded 460 mm of rain.
