Sushil Chandra to take over as CBDT Chairman

Sushil Chandra, Member, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), has been appointed as the next Chairman of the policy-making body of the income tax department. He will take over from Rani Singh Nair whose term comes to an end on October 31, an official statement said here on Wednesday.

Chandra, an IRS officer of the 1980 batch, had joined as Member, CBDT, on December 17 last year.

Nair, currently the CBDT Chairperson, is an IRS officer of the 1979 batch and has been heading the policy making body since August 1 this year.

CBDT has six members apart from the Chairperson.
